Two offices, one number

Where we work: New York, NY, Long Island and Westchester

One number covers the city and the Island. Our service office is in the West Village and our head office is in Central Islip, so we work from both ends of the map.

Quick answer

Our coverage from the West Village service office in New York, NY runs across all five boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island and southern Westchester including Yonkers, with the head office in Central Islip. Every area is answered 24/7 on the same number, and we tell you honestly on the call if a location is outside our range.

Manhattan, where the service office is

The West Village office puts us close to the prewar walk-ups, co-ops and brownstones of Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen, Gramercy Park and Murray Hill, and within easy reach of the Upper East Side, Harlem and Washington Heights. Most calls here are leaks from the apartment above, steam riser and radiator leaks, and sewer water in cellars during cloudbursts.

Downtown, the low-lying blocks near the old shoreline took Sandy's surge in 2012, flooding cellars, mechanical rooms and ground floors in the West Village and Lower Manhattan. After a coastal storm those are the buildings we check first.

Manhattan work is shaped by buildings more than distance: supers, elevator bookings, house rules and neighbors below. Our co-op and condo work is built around that.

The other four boroughs

In Brooklyn the work runs from brownstone parlor floors to finished basements in row houses. In Queens it's often basements that filled during Ida and sewer backups in low-lying blocks. The Bronx brings a lot of steam-heated apartment buildings with radiator and riser leaks, and Staten Island has newer frame houses with carpeted basements and shoreline flooding on the east shore.

Some neighborhoods get their own pages because of how often they flood: Marine Park & Gerritsen Beach on the bay, Bayside and Whitestone in northeast Queens, Throgs Neck on the Sound and the South Shore Staten Island.

All four are served from the same office and phone line as Manhattan.

Long Island, where the head office is

Our head office in Central Islip sits in the Town of Islip, which puts Suffolk County and Brookhaven close at hand. Further west, Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead are full of postwar houses with oil heat and full basements, which means puffbacks in winter and basement flooding in storm season.

The rest of the Island is covered the same way: Oyster Bay from the Massapequas to the North Shore, North Hempstead with its co-ops and older houses, Huntington and Smithtown with their storm-prone valleys and harbors, and Babylon on the Great South Bay.

On the North and South Forks, travel time is longer; we'll tell you what to expect when you call.

North of the city

In Westchester County we work the Sound Shore towns and the river valleys that flood in heavy rain, from New Rochelle on the Sound to White Plains on the Bronx River, and in Yonkers we see deep basement flooding when the rivers back up.

Yonkers borders the Bronx, so a call there is often handled by the same crew on the same day as a Bronx job. Further north than southern and central Westchester, we'll tell you on the phone whether we can reach you in reasonable time.

Where our coverage ends

We don't take jobs in New Jersey or Connecticut, and we don't cover the Hudson Valley beyond Westchester. Inside our area, big storms can stretch response times for everyone; when that happens we'll say so on the call instead of promising what we can't do.

If you are outside our range, we'll still tell you what to do in the first hour.
